Each week, Youth Arts Alliance brings a myriad of creative arts workshops facilitated by local teaching artists to approximately 130 youths in Southeast Michigan’s juvenile justice system. The not-for-profit art collaborative serves youths in residential and detention services in Jackson County Youth Center, Monroe County Youth Center, Washtenaw County Youth Center, and Vista Maria in Wayne County. Youth Arts Alliance has served thousands of young people since its founding in 2013, but its brand wasn’t fully sharing the lasting, meaningful, positive impact it was making with older children and teens through its programming.
We engaged Youth Arts Alliance in our BonPhire initiative to uncover and rethink the organization into a results-driven community force, ready to use the power of creativity to unlock the potential and artistic expression of youths living in the juvenile justice system.
“We are so grateful to receive the inaugural BonPhire Award. Phire Group’s expertise and support have served as a catalyst for folks to learn about our work and impact, and they have presented opportunities for us to expand to more places and people,” said Heather Martin, LLMSW, founding director, Youth Arts Alliance. “There is not a lot of support in this arena for non-profits, and Phire Group has their finger on the pulse of the needs of local non-profits. A much needed and celebrated resource!”
Phire Group’s BonPhire aims to empower one Michigan-based non-profit per year by offering a full suite of marketing and creative expertise, free of charge, to strengthen their impact across the communities they serve and beyond. Phire Group will also offer full support and training for the Youth Arts Alliance team to implement the new brand, website, and marketing strategy. Stay tuned, BonPhire will launch again in 2019.
